I AM READY FOR KINDERGARTEN
Dear Pre-Kindergarten Parents/Guardians:
New and exciting experiences await your child as they continue their educational journey into Kindergarten. In an effort to alleviate some of your child’s fears and your own concerns, all Pre-Kindergarten parents are invited to attend a Pre K to Kindergarten transition parent workshop facilitated by Early Childhood School Social Worker, Ms. Sierra-Torres LMSW, M.Ed in collaboration with Family Assistant Irene Cappa.
The workshop will be extremely helpful since each parent will:
- Receive a Kindergarten Readiness Indicators Checklist.
- Learn innovative ways to reinforce skills during the summer break.
- Each school year is unique! Receive resources on WHAT TO EXPECT FROM KINDERGARTEN!
- Review Core Curriculum expectations for Pre-Kindergarten students and make connections to Core Curriculum expectations for Kindergarten.
Do not miss out in this informative meeting. Our previous Pre-K families have felt that the meeting was effective in easing their child’s transition into Kindergarten. Many Pre- K parents feel that the workshop eases their own fears about what Kindergarten academic expectations.
The workshop will be held on May 21, 2012 at 9:30 am. in the school cafeteria.
